Take it step by step

  1. Contact your bank or payment provider through its independently verified channel and report suspected financial cyberfraud promptly on 1930 or the official National Cybercrime Reporting Portal.
  2. Follow the official instructions. Do not wait to compress or organise files before starting a time-sensitive report.
  3. Preserve original transaction references, receipts, messages and contact details. Do not delete or edit evidence to make it look tidier.
  4. Complete the requested portal details on the official website and keep the acknowledgement. Never give a caller your OTP or allow remote access because they claim to recover funds.
  5. Use the official complaint-status or follow-up route and provide additional evidence when requested. Keep all records private.
A CONCRETE EXAMPLE

A situation to try.

A person sends money after an impersonation message. Their first step is the verified bank and fraud-reporting route; creating a polished PDF should not delay reporting.

Use the tool’s synthetic example first where available. The example here explains a decision; it is not a reported benchmark result.

Before you call it done.

  • Report promptly through verified channels.
  • Preserve original evidence and transaction references.
  • Keep the official acknowledgement.

Know the limits.

Reporting does not guarantee a freeze, refund or recovery. IndiaDigital cannot trace transactions, contact police or recover money. File tools are optional preparation after urgent reporting.
