Take it step by step

  1. Identify the seller or service provider, the purchase and the specific problem. Keep the original invoice, terms and correspondence.
  2. Write a factual chronology and the resolution you are requesting. Contact the provider through its verified support route where appropriate.
  3. Read the National Consumer Helpline’s official complaint instructions and submit through its stated route.
  4. Attach copies only as requested, remove unrelated material from the working bundle and retain complete original evidence.
  5. Keep the grievance number and follow the official response. Consult the appropriate further route if the matter remains unresolved.
A CONCRETE EXAMPLE

A situation to try.

A replacement was promised but never delivered. A dated order receipt, support messages and a short timeline help explain the issue better than an unlabelled collection of screenshots.

Use the tool’s synthetic example first where available. The example here explains a decision; it is not a reported benchmark result.

Before you call it done.

  • Identify the provider and transaction.
  • State the requested resolution clearly.
  • Retain complete original evidence.

Know the limits.

The helpline supports pre-litigation grievance handling; a complaint is not a binding judgment or guaranteed refund. Further legal remedies depend on the case and current procedure.
