Take it step by step
- Start with a specific learning question and your level, language and preferred resource type.
- Search NDLI and refine the results. Inspect the title, source and description before opening an external resource.
- Check the resource provider’s access requirements and licence. Discovery in a library catalogue does not grant permission to copy or redistribute everything.
- Select a small reading list, note its sources and set aside realistic study time.
- For material you lawfully download, keep a source reference and use local document tools only where the file and rights permit.
A situation to try.
A student researching water conservation chooses a school-level introduction and a primary report. A useful two-source reading plan can be better than downloading every result without checking its level.
Use the tool’s synthetic example first where available. The example here explains a decision; it is not a reported benchmark result.
Before you call it done.
- Check the source and intended audience.
- Confirm access and reuse terms.
- Keep citations with notes.
Know the limits.
Some resources link to external providers or require their own access. IndiaDigital cannot unlock paywalls, confer copying rights or guarantee the accuracy of every catalogue result.
