Take it step by step
- Test whether the PDF has selectable text.
- Choose conversion and review whether the output uses text reconstruction or page images.
- Open the DOCX in a separate editor.
- Check headings, tables, reading order and page breaks before making changes.
A situation to try.
A page-image DOCX preserves a CV’s appearance but does not give you editable paragraphs. A reconstructed DOCX may be editable while moving the columns.
Use the tool’s synthetic example first where available. The example here explains a decision; it is not a reported benchmark result.
Before you call it done.
- Try placing a text cursor inside a paragraph.
- Check table cells and bullets.
- Look for missing symbols and fonts.
Know the limits.
PDF geometry does not contain all the original word-processing structure. Complex layouts need manual cleanup.
This tool’s current boundary: Editable extracted text only. Original layout, images, tables and fonts are not preserved. Scanned pages need OCR.
Evidence and scope
Technical source guidance and task-specific output checks. These do not establish that every file, browser or device passes.
Use the checks above on your own exported result. A source explains the format or mechanism; it is not proof that this export preserved every feature.
